Heston Blumenthal, one of my fav chefs, is at it again…doing some crazy shit in the kitchen. This time he is raising a piggie from birth, slaughtering it, roasting the bones, and finally, fashioning a flute from these bones. This flute will be used to record an album by the creative and imaginative musician, Matthew Herbert. His 2001 album, Bodily Functions, is still one of my all time fav’s. He uses samples taken from sounds made by body parts like skin, hair and the such. Dani Siciliano provides beauteous mellifluous vocals. Check out these videos. He has a project called The Matthew Herbert Big Band and it’s really a big band. Amazing.
