FAGAT SURVEY: Num Pang Sandwich Shop

This week’s Fagat Survey is from Blake Martin, a fellow Richmonder relocated. In fact, Blake and I first met in gym class in 6th grade. Then, I threw him a surprise birthday party and it was AWESOME. He’s an amazing film director, ex-trumpet player, & Beyoncé lover.

…Oh, and a sandwich that you can’t make changes to (“No substitutions or changes allowed” unapologetically declare the signs downstairs.) But for good reason. What’s to change, when before you sits a little slice of perfection: fresh cucumbers and pickled carrots, tender spiced honey pulled barbeque, chipotle mayonnaise (and plenty of it), all served on the best torpedo roll I’ve had since leaving Philadelphia five years ago. Yeah, yeah, they have other sandwiches and daily specials, but like a good New Yorker, I’m set in my ways and know better than to mess with a good thing.
