FAGAT SURVEY: Bajan Bistro
Bajan Bistro
- Website: NA
- Address: 104 E 121st St, New York, NY 10035 between Lexington & Park
- Notes: (cont from above) The snapper had been marinating in something beautiful for awhile. The meat maintained it’s quiet essence in every bite. The mac n’ cheese was baked and more of a casserole as opposed to a pasta with cheesy sauce. This is what we southerners really go for. I got the stewed oxtails w/ dirty rice & boiled cabbage and carrots. Soooooo good. Fallin’ off the bone, hearty, flavorful. They have grits in the AM, Kingfish, Deviled Wings (?), & burgers, too. It was such a surprising meal, I was in heaven. In Harlem. And if it’s this easy to get to heaven, Imma keep on cussin’, drinkin’, and talkin’ shit.
- Hours: Mon-Fri 7am-6pm; Sat 12pm-6pm; Sundays Closed
Check out this Bajan stand from my St. Thomas trip. Yummy fried flying fish. Our picky eater friend was jumping up and down for this stuff, like a little kid.
So good there! I may have to single-handedly keep that place open, if I can ever get there before they close.
